Unhappy 3 Months @ Marlin (pics)

After 3 months with marlin doing a lot of work to our car, it is very close to coming back for us to finish off, there are a few pictures in the gallery that marlin sent through to Nick & I, just to tease us.

Our body is in the gorgeous Green as well,

The Pictures can also be viewed here,

Made up the engine mounts, wired the complete car, fitted the body, made up new rear hub carriers, & getting the engine running,

There is a lot more to it than that as you will know, but thats the main parts they have done.

Perhaps I was too subtle:

".....can be built in a domestic garage over four week-ends....."

Well Marlin say you can, if you use one donor car and buy a complete kit all at once & have no social life, then it is possible.

Ours will be complete within a year of starting, which was our aim, but the sooner the better, and like many of you we want to be enjoying the car.

4 weekends = 8 days. 3 months = 60 (?) working days - they should have been able to build 7 cars in that time………..

Do I detect sarcasm?

Any chance we'll see it at Stoneleigh?

Even if you have to trailer it there.

Ooops - rumbled!

I'm not dissing Jon, I'm just surprised at what appears to have been done, in a fairly long time in Crediton.

Haha, I'd like to see more 18 year olds put there time to better use, & is if they can develop & build a race car in 1year.

Anyway, Its been with Marlin for a long time as its had to have everything made for it from outside companies, the body only turned up a couple of days ago along with the ecu and engine bits and pieces. Marlin are working on it when they are quite as it keeps costing down to a smaller amount, which is what we all like.

All the work could have been done in 6weeks but no point, as we wouldn’t have the money to pay the bill.

I would like to take it to Stoneleigh but it’s the same as it is in the pictures, the body isn’t very secure, and its still a long way off completion, if it was complete we would still have to trailer it as its not road legal, we could make it but then insurance is a paid as its a race car, but it would end up in the hedge due to the so solid suspension settings.
