I had the exact same idea for wing vents seanick.
I can't stop myself looking at Micras now imagining how their vents would look. There's loads of different styles too :-)

Approached someone in a Micra today he let me look at the bonnet vents, was thinking of 90 degrees different to your "photoshop". Previous to that it was a pack of six chrome louvers three each side, £5 from CBS.

Played around with a different front vent look, using my advanced photoshop techniques..[IMG][/IMG]

Guess the marque of inspiration?
Shall we start laying up the AM front for ?

They do look good don't they. I haven't tried them yet so don't know if the curve on the rear face is anything like the 250 wing, but then that's what filler is for!

I measured a micra vent today, about 14" long. I think it may be a bit big. This 'latest' shape is 10 1/2", penned by Greg the artistic one. Thats a nice shape I said, but its me that has to make it!

Wadda ya fink?

Chris, thanks but one front is enough ....for now.

Default vents

Love the gills on the back. The artistic one on the front doesn't go, not aggressive enough. looks like a slipper

Gills! Well, they will go with the fishfacefront!

Default DVLA change of descrition on V5

A quick update on my efforts to register my Mazda as a Tribute. After taking my car to my local DVLA and being inspected. I was presented with a load of forms to fill in to re register the Mazda.
My Tax has just expired so i have been trying to SORN my car. I cant do it online and when I spoke to DVLA they told me to send form v890 with new reg and covering letter as car is in between regististrations. I have done this but still not SORN . Spoke to DVLA again today. My car now shows on system as Tribute 250 GT0 ( near enough0) I haven't filled forms in yet! I was told to send another V890 with covering letter showing old registration. (opposite to what they told me last time).
Any way went online with old reminder for previous REG and put it SORN. Think that will completely balls it up. Had enough by then.
Let you know

Its amazing..the DVLA have always been renowned for being indecisive and being very local in their policy, and I am fine with that, its just its been like that since time began, and nothing seems to change!

Default Dvla

Today i received my new V5. It is now a Tribute 250 GT, they missed the zero off the end but its near enough.
Just to recap I have taken the car for a quick inspection, then I have to complete form V55/5 to re register as a Tribute. As my Tax was about to expire I transferred a new plate onto the car at the same time. Some how they have already made the changes on my V5. I will still complete forms but its now in writing.

Yes, I bought it from the last DVLA auction. Registered as bidder bought a Webcam ticket and sat at home and bought this number 20 KCX as it was cheap. Obviously this is a show plate as it would be illegal to fit it to my 1998 car

Default Exhaust

Gone for the cheap simple approach to my Exhaust. Chopped through the rear valance. Piped up a twin DTM style rear pipe. Big and throaty. Older Boy racer meets plumbworld. Whittled a bit of stainless into a surround. Bolted through GRP.

Its all in the detailing... the more there is, the less it matters whjat it is meant to replicate. Top work. Question, is stainless easy to shape?
