Arrow Registering as a 250GTO

Im going to be re-locating to spain early next year and I'm going to take my MX250 over with me and use it over there (on english plates). however, if I get a pull off a spanish police man, Im sure its going to be difficult for me to explain that the car in actually a Mazda!

What forms do i need to fill in or where do i take the car etc so that I can get it registered as whatever i can get away with as close to ferrari ass possible?

this is a bit of a sticky one at the momant . with all the changes hapenning a recent batch of cars registerd were told they had to keep the make name on the v5document. in other words me old cocka , it will say mazda 250 gto or something like that.i know of 3 cars so far told they cant remove the make . 2 triumphs and a tvr.

Thank you "Shadow", you must have been talking to Gary "Sammio" Janes who helped with our GTO / TVR paperwork and inspection.

Yes, you are correct there seems to be a change towards retaining the original car manufacturers name and adding a new model name to reflect the new appearance of the car.

That said, I have also had another V5 changed recently with the makers name being removed as before, go figure!

Hi Danny,

What you need is this form:

https://www.gov.uk/government/public...pection-report

I have emailed you a copy and also one roughly filled in as an example of the information required. You will need to ring the DVLA and enquire as to which VOSA station you are required to take your car to for inspection. You can then submit the form, and your V5 logbook, to the DVLA and await an appointment date to be issued. Turn up at the allocated time and an inspector will check your cars VIN, engine and Registration numbers and inspect the car to make sure you have not made any "radical" changes to it's structure.

Once this is done you will receive a replacement V5 showing it's new identity.

yes buddy I run into gary from time to time he is still beavereing away in the industry . I am collecting bits to build a sammio or miglia at the moment but can I pop over to see you sometime about a 250 kit? 50s race car is great for dry sundays etc but I am thinking a 60s raceing coupe would be good for everyday!

It might be a good idea to remove the badges, best not to confuse the inspector!
