Castle Combe June 2015
Hello, this is David with Sammio number 48, which I have been running for over 2 yrs now. Are any other owners wanting to display at the Castle Combe Complete Kit Car day in June. I live near the circuit and will ask for a stand. It would be great to some cars there.

Hi Dave, I will trying to get the BMW powered Sammio ready for the outing.
As your local maybe we could met up and run down together.
With this nice weather I have been expecting you and "48" to call-in for a cuppa.

I'm planning on going but if I do then i'll be in the Miglia (weather permitting), so i'll keep a respectable distance from the Sammio stand

David - Do you have any photos of #48 on the road?
How have you found life with a Spyder?
I know the original build thread was a great read.
Cheers, Paul.

Perhaps you could take a mould from the Sammio stand, then modify it to look almost, but not quite exactly like the Sammio stand, then if anyone suggests that there's a similarity between your stand and the Sammio stand you could swear and shout angrily at them that it's an original and unique design called the Cymurmiglia stand as you try to destroy the mould when you think no-one's looking...

Replying to Pauls's post
I have had great fun with the car and attended a lot of shows. When I bought the car I had to make a lot of improvements to the car. the build was done quickly and some things that should have been done were omitted. Luckily I found using the car the mods that needed to be done. Now the car drives and looks right. I am always amazed at shows that the car gets more attention than any other car there. I have owned seven lotus's and many other classics including my latest addition a Datsun 260z, but I can say without doubt the most fun is in the Sammio. I do not know how to upload pictures but there is one in the Madabout gallery. Cheers and hope to see you at Castle Combe.

Perhaps we could get a Porsche 550 spyder kit there as well so we could continue the comparisons, as I know the rear ends are awfully 'similar'...
Sorry.. All I'm trying to say is that the Sammio, Ribble, Miglia, 550 and numerous other kits are all knock offs of other designs (says an ex-Countach knock-off owner!) and I'm sure there has also been lots of 'politics' between lots of the various companies over the years, so can we just let the whole Sammio/Ribble/Miglia "thing" lie please?
TBH after reading your comments my current feeling is "well if me attending is going to cause this sort of response then I'll stay away as I don't want to spoil it for people"
ho humm.

TBH I don't have a problem with the whole Sammio/Ribble/Miglia thing.
In fact I think the Miglia Roadster is a nice looking car, not as nice as the Sammio Spyder but still nice.
Be more than happy to see you and your car at the show.

As you may have read I will try to get the BMW Spyder road worthy for this event.
It will not be painted but you can still have a look and listen

I'v just ordered a new clutch master cylinder for the BMW powered Spyder.
I should be here by Friday but if it's not I'll be bringing this.
Well it's still a kit car, honestly
PS, if it's raining or going to rain all bets are off
