London - Athens Endurance event
Yesterday evening was the start of the "Guild of Motor Endurance" event from the "Ace Cafe", labelled as London to Athens, but it goes via France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and many others, 21 countries altogether finishing in Italy. 7500 km,s.
Its got Peter Crowther ( Marlin Sportster ) in it and I went along to see the start.
If they do an event next year would love to do it.

The BIG engine is in a Dax Rush 6.5L Chevy. When he pulled away from the start it was like a dragster, awesome. If he does those type of starts too often he won,t have any rubber left to complete the event.
More pics can be seen here ;- http://bit.ly/UksuRf
In fact there are many more of that particular car.

Did they need that chevy engine to cope with the weight and drag from their huge roof box.
Or is the roof box a huge fuel tank to keep it going??
I just found a Facebook page with updates on progress..

I would not want their fuel bill for the trip. The guy did say the car was a handful not suited for the road........too much power.
Thanks for the link Peter, but that is the same messages that are on their twitter link. I joined Twitter just to follow them. They have a tracker on board the Smart car for watchers to follow.
