Sounds interesting Nick

Chris had an idea of cutting part of the z300 scoop and inverting it - recessing it into the bonnet to creat an oval scoop.

To be honest I had got up at silly o'clock to venture down to Chris and I couldn't visualise what he was describing.

But now I can and its definitely a possibility - the Z300s power bulge is low key but the opening would be obvious

[QUOTE=DSG4ME;69807]You are right about the wings and bonnet with the blended look. A Cobra should always show it´s mascular wings.

DSG I wonder if you would be so kind as to put the fiat 500 lamps on and adjust the hood scoop to something a little less intrusive.

There has been lots of talk of how inappropriate they are, im just curious.

Thank you

That is the idea with the scoop. Sometimes it looks good but sometimes it doesn't. I guess photoshop is easier to try it on than glassing it up.

Here you have it with Fiat 500 Headlamps and a Ferrari 550 bonnet scoop as recommended by WCA.

high beam units looked a bit orange - they will receive a smoke tint like the rear lamps and maybe the headlamps.

Tried out the revised Z300 power bulge and scoop that Chris envisaged.
I think we are pretty close.

More similar to the cobra in this pic than I imagined .
The stance will be completely different being based on a z300s.

The face being much lower than the Kobra.

It will wear AC badges though.
"AC Schnitzer"

Legitamate as my donor has AC pedals and wheels hahaha
and should keep a few guessing what it is

If you're insistent on using Fiat 500 headlamps, at least use black ones

I did ask for feedback and I appreciate everyone's comments

We all have opinions and I respect each and every one but I do not have to agree with them.

I picked up paper and pencil and I styled the car - I do not have to compromise my vision.

If you want a similar car with a different lamp speak to Chris he is very obliging.

The head light is not just a detail - it dictates the complete form especially in side profile.

Hence why I said its an holistic approach to design and not just add a panel front and back and leave a huge chunk of unchanged donor in between.

Its even more interesting as my design is based on Nicks original vision.
Mine is just a restyle, just a tweak here and there not a full original design like the z300s was.

Please continue to comment.
But don't get upset if I don't agree.

I didn't mean to upset you and have already stated how much I like what you're doing with this.
As you say, everyone has opinions. Some are helpful and some you'll disagree with, and that's fine.
Anyway, best of luck and keep the ideas flowing, I'm sure it will turn out just great.
I'm right about the headlamps though

Enough sketching
Time to do something.

Stripped the AC wheels and repainted them - Satin Black centres and Candy Red rims

Candy pops well in the sun
Time to prop it up against the car - I will wait a few days to make sure the 2k has gone hard before refitting the tyres

They look well but in my opinion fitting them alloys will scream out BMW will it not?

Back on with the rear lights, i know you said your fitting fiat coupé lights and tinting them to get rid of the amber, but im currently driving from the north or germany to alicante and the ammount of new motor homes that have similar style round lighs fitted ive seen is unreal, they all seem to be led aswell and incorperate reverse/fog lights. Maybe worth a look?

As I previously mentioned, Car Builder Solutions have got a big range of
rear lights and you can create your own by mixing `n matching differnt units.

http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/CBS_Catalogue.pdf

Just another idea on the front lights, have you thought about using Fiat 500
lights behind glass covers as seen on E type Jags and other classic sports cars.

This car is being based on the Z300s - I cant believe this hasn't been a more popular model.
Its a very pretty car and I almost just built an unmodified one.

It has a very large nose. Great on a 50's sports / racer but I want something more modern.

I love the low headlamp height and the way it rolls over the front wheels

If I take all the advice to put lamps behind lenses or use mini lamps then the nose will remain as long.

Now if you look at the Bertini - the lamps are higher dictated by the D type front end but the fiat lamps will allow the front to be shortened.
The dynamics will be different as the lamps are about 5" lower.

Chopping the nose off is also the basis of the cobra inspired front grille.
Chris instantly found a moulding that the front valance will be made from - giving the suggestion of the separate wing / bonnet elements.

If I was making the Zagato modern mini lamps or lamps behind covers is the way.

As for the rear lamps I will look at commercial units but the trouble with car builder lamps is they are recognised as kit car lamps- they can be found on every 3rd car at every show.

I like the red detail on the lower edge of the grill aperture and the bonnet vent looks good

I like all in that last pic, even the grill, does it have a thicker lore edge? And is that a real body colour? What's it from?
