Default 250 SWB Koupe Close to finish

We have been building a car for our customer Bryn Webber. Its a 2.8 manual. Today it came back from paint. We will wait a couple of days for the paint to harden then start refitting the 'pretty' bits. This will be on our stand at Stoneleigh once finished.

Back at the workshop. Paint is Ferrari Grigio Mahmoud. He wanted it like the Eric Clapton car but without the red stripes.

That looks superb, really understated. What wheels will it have?

Thers a photo of then in our main thread. Basically specially engineered spinner hubs with E type wheels powder coated with chrome effect paint. Chrome eared spinners with period style thread on the tyre pattern. They will sit under the arches also.

The fit on the bonnet is particularly good - kudos to you.

Thank you for all the great comments, it makes it worthwhile for all the hard work we put into a build. Each one we learn from and it makes for better finished cars. Obviously the boot lid is not bolted on. We tried a new technique with the bottom of the bonnet wings. They sit perfect now, if you look at all the Koupes and Kalifornias that have been done before they stick out.

Did you not see our stand at Stoneleigh last year? It was opposite the Tribute stand. No part builds.

Sorry no as it has to have this done before the paint stage. Basically we cut out 7mm strip under the bonnet below the bonnet hinges. Then use a ratchet strap to pull the edges together closing the gap. We then lay Glass fibre over the gap to strengthen it again.

I guess if we were careful and padded the strap we could do yours. You could do away with your leather hold-down straps then. Unfortunately it would have to be after Stoneleigh as we are stacked out with work.

Just think how much easier it would be if a fresh mould was splashed off one of the cars after Nubodi had corrected all the existing issues.

Agile development and all that.....

Yes , I saw your stand , some really well built examples. I was refering to the two part built 250 SWB's on the Tribute stand.

I've thought that too. Now that the model has an established demand perhaps that's the way to go. The cars being prepped for paint in other threads all appear to need quite a bit of work .
