I seem to like Tributes, Cobras, Stratoses and v8s. But then, who doesn't?

Looks like a quality moulding though, anyone any idea of the company producing it, donor etc.?

P*ssed off I missed the show this year, some really nice cars pictured so thanks to anyone who uploads some.

It's a Prova body shell. It will be turn key only build to spec by Regal Classics. The guy behind Regal is incredibly into detail - he built the quad turbo V12 orange Diablo. Besides owning the Prova molds he also owns DC Supercars Diablo bodies as well as Mirage Countach. He likes his Italians!

The floorpan underneath there is.....a Boxster. No chassis mods, no IVA but not sure how that works with windscreen but anyway. 3.2S turnkey starts at £55k

http://www.regalclassics.co.uk/

And award for best combined paint/bodywork on a Tribute goes to..... Hurnleft!

Bobs car may buck the replica slave trend but the paint finish taken in combination with the straightness of panels - that's the one to beat.

I have to admit this year had more vehicles finished to a high standard.
The candy red cobra on the stand was gorgeous but if it was parked outside amongst the other cobras its just another cobra replica.

The kebab is brilliant, the ally gutters and detailing around the door frames, the period colour and the steel wheels just worked.
Parked at Goodwood or any other classic meet it would look very much at home.

I would have liked to have seen Bob's car,

Shame I went yesterday, I have put a couple of his ideas on my build.

I agree the cobra's were streets ahead of most stuff on show with regards to fit and paint finish, plus the fantastic detailing in engine bays etc.

Any idea why DNA put that big flat step after the boot?

It looks like they took a mould off an MG RV8 (or whatever the rerun mugs were called) and then realised the boot was too short.

That and the petrol flap were the most jarring points on the body. I wasn't a big fan of the sharp line along the side but Andysharroc liked that bit. I guess it is each to their own.

the petrol filler in a real 250 was inside the boot, law says you can't do that anymore, I didn't want to fit an aero chrome filler as there's not much room from the original bmw filler to the new location, as one of the tribute guys ( I think smash) has had problems filling his tank with petrol

also to keep the build simple , so no tubes running fuel around the car where they shouldn't be

to keep this thread clear , I will post info anyone needs on the DNA thread , looks like I'll be busy defending myself!

That's s/n 2015GT - and alloy-bodied special (one of only three ever produced). Here's the standard body style, without the beer shelf:

Edited with this addition:

because I just didn't trust my aging memory as to the serial number, and hadda go and check. For once, I was right; mark your calendars.

I don't think there's anything to defend against; I expect that everyone here thinks the DNA 250 is delightful.

I think it looks pretty impressive ..DNA always produce quality cars , regardless of whether you like them or not ..you cant knock the finish on their stuff ...I have no doubt they did their homework ...rear lights are a bit iffy having said that but not the worst and we have to cater for an Amber indicator ..would the old Austin Morris / London Cab light fit ?

Not on the competition bodies (which were directly the province of Scuderia Ferrari and not of Sergio Scaglietti) - they had a filler cap set within the boot lid, and since the DNA 250 is modelled directly on the alloy body, with its broad "shelf" just below the boot... well, wouldn't the through-the-boot-lid filler be more appropriate anyway?

Caveat: I know very little about those Italian cars.
