A difficult question how much is too much!
Depends where you buy it from, E bay is making crazy prices, I got mine from Gumtree at a real steal, the price has to be up to each individual, important for a time and extra cost is the condition of chassis and parts, there are many donors out there that need a lot of welding this can eat into any ones budget and extend build time.
If you pay a bit more chance are the cars in better nick and you will recoup more from selling on the parts you dont need..

I'd say it depends on how much you're willing to spend, or alternatively do yourself! You can get a non-runner for the high hundreds but you'll have to put time (and a bit of cash) into it like i did, or you can get an MOT'd one for in the thousands and then it's more of a simple unbolt and replace job.

As said, i'd avoid e-bay like the plague unless you spot your "perfect" car as it's all way overpriced! use gumtree / local free-ads / or ask on here. Gary used to always know of a few knocking about?

I bought an off-the-road car that wasn't running, had bits missing and no interior electrics. But the engine, chassis and running gear was largely sound and I was lucky as i bought from someone (S.Wales Andy) who was completely honest with me about the state of the car and it was priced as such!

Good luck with your search matey, they are out there!!
