Question Ligthing switch

I'm back, I haven't been able to work on the car since May due to having an extenstion done.

The last thing I did was label up the wiring loom from Premier Wring having spent a lot of time staring at the BMW wiring diagrams and matching it to the loom.

So this week I have been connecting things up. One thing I can't seem to get to work is the Side/Dip switch. Has anyone else tried to use the existing E30 light stalk with a Lucus Premier Loom?

I spoke to Premier who were helpful but suggested I get a different lighting switch, such as an early mini one.

Hi Will,
good to hear that you are back in the garage!

I did use the e30 stalk for dipped/main beam and flash but used relays as I didn't think the bmw switches would be up to it without. I ended up with quite a complicated wiring to get it all to work but don't have a wiring diagram that I could publish. I ended up with three relays. One to switch the main beams on, one to flash the full beam and a change over relay to switch between main and dipped beam.

not sure if that is any help,

Peter

Thanks Peter, it has confirmed the Premier Wiring view that it would be complicated.

I think I will get hold of BL lighting stalk and see how easy it is to mount it to the BMW column.

Thanks

Will
