Default Brake light switch

Hi guys, Happy (if a little late) new Year to you all!! Getting the pedal box sorted, looking at the brake light switch. I assume it goes in the hole near the top of the pedal. Which switch did you guys use? Does one fit in directly or is much fettling required?? Engine fired up, runs well, sounds amazing, now need to sort out the stop, go and gear changey pedal bits and plumbing and this thing may move under its own steam soon!!

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob
Glad to hear your engine is running well.
I used the original BMW brake light switch. The circular hole needed to be modified into a square hole with a little additional groove:

Whether this was the simplest solution I'm not sure, but it seems to work OK.
Cheers

Hi Rob, I just installed my switch today. I've used one of the mechanical ones from CBS. The hole in the pedal box was in the wrong place for me so I ended up making a little adapter bracket

Hi Morris. I got a similar mechanical one from Ebay, with a 14mm thread, so just had to enlarge the hole slightly and in it went! Haven't wired it up in situ yet to test it, but it looks like it works as it should.
