Chrome petrol filler cap???
Anyone got any ideas where to get a chrome filler cap from, problem is not sure where the original black scruffy one came from. The o/d is3" & the i/d 1.5" with a large slot in the filler neck & a smaller slot opposite to facilitate locking. My car is a relatively old build so any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Jools
Most of the Cabrio's used a modified fuel neck from a sierra, the black knurled edge caps used were often painted to match the car.
If you take measurements off the one you have or post a picture I can compare it to the sierra setup on my cabrio.

Most of the suppliers do "Monza" or "Aston" filler caps, which are in chrome and add a touch of bling to the car.

Hi Jools
Sorry but I can't help you, it doesn't look anything like my Sierra fuel neck, not sure what yours is off but it doesn't look like most of the Cabrio ones I've seen.

I have thought about this route, I did it on my previous kit car (Cobra).
I may well do it if I keep it long term but I was looking for a quick (inexpensive) bling up. Thanks for the reply.

Excuse my ignorance, but is your car already sva'd / iva'd and on the road?
If so then have a look on eBay for a triumph Spitfire fuel filler cap as I think it might be just what you're after!
I had one on my Sammio and they are a lovely solid bit of kit. You can also pick them up for about £15 and then it's just a case of adapting the pipes to join it to your tank.

Yes it's roadworthy & registered. I'm just rebuilding it over the winter after having all the panels re-sprayed. I'll check out the spitfire angle, thanks.
