I think I agree about the silver wheels - I will be nipping up to Halfords for a rattle can shortly.
Number plates are vexing me at the moment.
I am thinking of getting one of those cheap Northern Irish plates so the car loses the age specific plate. Can't afford it right now.
This means I don't want to put stickers on it now and the replace them later. I know they are meant to be the same size so should just go over the top but I want to get the plate as small as I can.
All this is made more difficult as it needs to get through an MOT before the end of the month - I guess that a number plate on the front dash won't pass

How about fitting the front numbe rplate in the front grill?
Normal size for the mot and a small one for everyday use.
I used to have a small magnetic flexible number plate (no good for you) on my E-type, trouble was at speed it used to slide up the bonnet and when it hit the bulge would fly off so I just used to leave it inside the car (not on show in the window), I was never pulled once and it used to be a daily driver.
Just couldn't bring myself to stick a number plate on the bonnet after the car had had a bare metal respray.
If I was to do the same with a Citroen Saxo or Corsa I think I would be given a tug every few miles.
Fit the small plate and keep the standard in the boot, you could always attach it with zip ties if you get a tug, unlikely to get a fine on a first offence.

Grrr... I can't get the bloody spinners undone to take the wheels off. Tapped on with a rubber camping mallet and won't budge when hit with a lump hammer.
Off to find a friends with a spinner spanner or proper padded hammer

A heavy lump hammer and a bit of 4 X 2 wood usually does it with no damage. Used to do that on my E type WCA.

In the bath? You must be a messy drinker, we drink ours in the lounge. :-)

Wife has advised me to PUT DOWN THE HAMMER AND WALK AWAY FROM THE CAR!
Probably best. A couple of photos
Notice the chrome around the grille - do I repeat for the brake vents?
Yeah I know about the 'plate. More importantly, do I stick some 20mm spacers on the rear?

Looking good WCA!
Personally I wouldn't chrome the brake vents. A thin chrome surround on the headlight covers would look good but too much chrome would cheapen it (IMO).

I wouldn't put chrome around the air ducts. The grill mouth and headlamps are enough.
Yes to spacers - though not so wide that the wheels are flush with the bodywork, like they are on new BMWs. Can't see terribly well in the pics but your estimate of 20mm sounds right.

The car looks superb! A credit to Chris and you for all you hard work and patience.
I think slightly wider wires would work a treat: Borrani-style.
Can I ask where you got your show plate from and approximate cost? I'd like something similar on one of my cars. Ta.

It is difficult to fit the front plate there. Originally I had it a little lower than you mean but it sort of shows the problem. I had to put it on a hinge so it didn't break when it hit things

Yep a little higher then have it slightly hinged so faster you go the more it swings back towards the bodywork....

Where does the front number plate go?
The plate shown in 12"x3" which is about as small as is legal
This will be a normal size sticker number plate
Plenty of air left for the radiator
