Default Donor - LCD Odometer

Hi Folks,

If you were to purchase a donor vehicle (say a R25) that has the new style LCD electronic odometers.
Now the idea of these new style odometers is to stop vehicle clocking, which is comendable but causes Kit car builders a problem.
The problem is this odometer will have the donor's mileage on it. Now you don't want the 5exi to show this you want it to be zero.

So the question is how do you zero the mileage, as I assume this is recorded in the ECU or somewhere else.

Default speedo

I have had my 25 electronic speedo set to zero. The dash needs to be out for them to do it. If you look in Automart you will find a few clockers er I mean speedo recalibrators listed. I paid £50 cash but he had to travel 50 miles to me. hth. Brian.

Thanks Brian. I new that their would be a way of overcoming this. I wouldn't want my new 5exi having thousands of miles on it. Will look in Autotrader. Once again thanks for the tip.
