Club meet
Great idea, let's see how things pan out on Saturday. I have yet to hear from my brother concerning his arrival time, but on the case. Thanks.

I still hope to be there with my Cobra, but have a few issues so taking tomorrow off work to try and sort them - I resprayed it a few weeks ago and everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The paint finish ended up like Artex - seriously if you rubbed your hand across it you would end up bleeding :-( Fingers crossed it will be presentable enough and back together before the run out on Saturday morning. I should have used Delux gloss lol

I will be there in my donor Z3 !
Nothing wrong with Dulux, I did a car with it using a roller and it looked fine from 5 yards !

"How much do I need for a Cortina?" I didn't ask the manager at B&Q- I just bought 1 litre.
All part of turning the log book details for a 4door silver Mk4 into a 2door red Ford convertible, along with welding up the back doors, a bit of bracing and a roof chop for my Brightwheel Viper that I didn't build- just got the chassis. It's out there somewhere along with an authentic 1963 registration number.

I wonder how many Cortina based Vipers and Sumo's are still out there registered as Ford Cortina's ? Must be a few !
Back on topic, it looks like the weather IS going to hold out, just about in the Southampton area on Saturday.

Is parking next to SteveP like going out on the pull with an ugly mate just to make yourself look better? :-)
SteveP - Remember that there might be a 'most improved' category in the next event. If it is as rough as buggery now, it is bound to be a big improvement later. Bring it as it is on Saturday. I am spending today doing a full car cleaning and detailing on mine*
Can everyone remember that this event is more about meeting up, discussing the challenges and how we over came them and generally talking bollocks. Anyone expecting a full blown Pebble Beach extravaganza will be sadly disappointed. Having said that, there will be prizes!!!!
*Brushing off the leaves and branches that landed on it after the storm and removing all the Costa coffee cups and sandwich wrappers from the passenger footwell

I have just re-read the whole of this thread and the list above is everyone I have identified. More welcome of course.
When you arrive at the pub we have a parking area for anything 'interesting', preferably but not exclusively Tribute. Start filling the area marked in red from the tree end.
Lancelot - Can you place your trailer and then stick the tow car somewhere else as space is a bit limited. Thanks

Breaking news !!!
From a gracious sponsor we have a special new prize.
I am still working on the rules but it is something like...
...everyone gets to look around your car, ask questions about how you did this or why you did that. At the end whoever said car and owner is considered the most informative and useful will win.
Bonus points will be awarded to the those who buy me beer and there will be a !!!CASH!!! Prize that the winner will be expected to spend at the bar of just enjoy.

i am going to bring along some back issues of Classic & Sports Car / Octance / Evo to give to the kids / sell to the dads. There are some nice Ferrari articles among them so you guys might want to look through them before I release them to the great unwashed public.

WCA ..I am sorry but a combination of customer , childcare and a pressing work commitment ( I have got to layup some flatsheet for a job on Monday ) means that my presence today is going to be impossible ...I'm really sorry as it looks like it's shaping up into a nice gathering and I would love to have shown my new product to like minded guys ...bit cheeky at a Tribute meeting , but there you go .... I really hope it goes well and a half built imposter on a trailer not materializing won't affect proceedings , I'm sure .....

I am afraid my Cobra won't be there. Despite pulling an all nighter the paintwork is major shit and its still in bits. I put so much effort into getting it ready for this event but everything conspired against me. I will come along at 1pm but in my Robin Hood 2B Lotus7 rep instead.Sorry about that but it's not for lack of trying :-(
