Question 2 stupid questions

Hi everyone!

I think these 2 questions are probably stupid so I appologise in advance....
this is my first ever build so here goes

1. Where do the 2 pieces of rubber hose go for the radiator the ones that are only 20mm long by3/8"?

2. I am trying to fix the top and bottom suspension arms in place and the bolts which I think are for the job 8x 3" x 7/16 unf hx hd bolts dont seem to want to fit? are these correct or are the bolts not supplied with the kit?

Many thanks
Craig

Hi Craig.

First off. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Best to ask rather than chance nd mess up.

1) I think i know the one's your refering to. These I think go into the chassis at the bottom of the rad. There's two tube holes in the chassis. These go in here. Does it look like this?

http://www.johnil.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/5exi/build3.htm

2) They should be the right one's. Have you pressed in the metal inner's with the lube?

I needed to use a rubber or wooden persuader to get the bolts in.

Hi Craig

Not shore about Q1 as the rubbers at the bottom of my rad not just bits of pipe as for Q2 it is most likely that there is powder coat in the holes on the chassie bits so clean them out or just persuade as limpabit said

Hi Craig,

Q1. These are the support mounts for the radiator at the bottom.
Q2. I had to carefully drill out the support holes on the chassis for the bolts to fit. Make sure you drill them for a good "tight" fit...get the correct drill.

HTH.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Yeah that is the little fellas and they are now in place at the bottom of the rad....

I have put all the metal tubes into the black plastic tubes but did not use lube as they went in easily!! Is it needed??

I have screwed the bolts through the chassis to clear out the powder coat!

The place where the bolts stick is in the metal tube, should I lube this up and just whack away?

Craig

Q1 I think thatMarlin are suppling to options in the kit for the rad mounting into the chassi.
I first of all spent ages pairing down the little hoses to fit on to the rad bottom mounting and to line up with the chassis mounting holes. After much swearing I noticed that their was another set of mounting rubber thingies that just attached to the rad and linned up with the chassis holes exactly. Result. Mangled up hoses things put in the bin.

I will try and get some photos.

The lube (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) is for the metal tube to be able to move within the plastic. So it needs to be lubed up before inserting them.
