Will the gear lever move or is that stuck in gear too?

Not being funny, does the gear lever flop about, are you able to select other gears or is the lever locked in one gear?

If it's a synchro gear the synchro hub may have jammed, in which case it's a complete strip job, on the other hand it could be a detent interlock on one of the rail shafts or something like that. A bit more info might help.

With a gearbox, unless it's something external or very simple your best course will be to find another box. Many alternatives to be had.

Suggests broken selector, or some other linkage issue.

Take top off box to investigate. May even be as simple as a loose bolt not securing selector to shaft?

I have spare gearbox(s) if you need any components. I'm under an hour from you. PM if you wish.

Depends what the issue is. Something silly like a loose bolt, tighten it with some Locktite. If it's internal like synchro hubs, replace the box.

It may be a clutch issue.

If it has been sitting for a long time the clutch plates stick to the flywheel.
a few months is not that long though.

Question
If you start it in neutral is it fine or does it still want to drive.
If you can start the eng in neutral and gently try to engage reverse and it grinds the clutch is not releasing.

If the clutch plate has stuck to the flywheel I have released them by foot on the clutch, foot on the brake (toe and heel) start it in gear and try to release it by eng power.
Answer the questions first though.

If it where a box it would be 3rd - 4th syncro hub or input to output shaft to output shaft bearing are likely possibility.
If the selection feels normal it is probably ok, when they break rolled pins or something like that it feels to easy or to hard to engage.
If it does not want to drive away in neutral its a clutch.

From what you have described it's stuck in gear, not a non-disengaging clutch.

The non disengaging clutch is common enough, I have driven a waggon gently, against a wall to break one free, there are lots of ways. One car we had we always left the clutch pedal pressed down with a stick but that was mechanical, not hydraulic.

Not sure how the selectors work on this box, but I have just remembered I used to have a Rover 2000TC which used to stick in first gear, always at the worst moment! That turned out to be a missing plastic bush in the selector gate.

I may have misinterpreted post 3 ED

I gathered the gears are selecting.
