Up and running...about time to!
After buying my kit way back in August I have managed to get the MX5 into the garage this week and start my build.
This is my progress on day one.

It won't take long Dave. I see you have a wood burning stove in the garage for those long cold winter evenings! Keep up the good work

Making progress
No turning back now. Sills all welded up, roof bonded to screen surround and rear section tiger sealed and screwed on. Just waiting for it all to cure now. [/IMG][/IMG]0118059A02720_zps57065a76.jpg[/IMG][/IMG]

Took me ages to find the right image code. Are you using photobucket?

Good work Dave. Photobucket can be a pain, but the more you use it the easier it gets.
Don't forget to cut, bond and rivet some steel plates into the doorshut/windscreen head area.
I must get back onto doing the BUILD MANUAL!

Hey dusty, looks very good. Did you cut back the body to the old bonnet line, around the screen?

Hi Seanick, yeah i cut it to that line. Thought i would give it a go. It looks allright. Saves a job messing around with the wipers.

What do i do with the headlights!!!!!!
I have kept the headlight units of the MX5. Is it best to use these. If so what chrome surrounds are best. Just preparing stuff ready for when i finish my sanding

Hi Dave
Here's some links for what you need:
Headlights: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Mini-Headlight-Lamp-Halogen-Conversion-Kit-7-Sealed-Beam-Wipac-Lucas-/360531156285?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM& fits=Model%3AMini|Plat_Gen%3AMK+I&hash=item53f154d d3d
Headlight buckets: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-7-Pla...item5ad832695d
Chrome rims: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-Chrome...item2ec5297c17
You will need to trim the back of the headlight bowls before fitting. The headlight rims are the clip on type not the one's with the screw fixing at the base, you would have problems getting the screw in once fitted.

My car now resembles a leopard, been busy filling all the gel coat voids. Do i need to fill every tiny pin hole and mark or will high build primer fill them? [/IMG]

I think the primer will help change the leopards spots, especially the small ones
Great to see the progress
