Default Quiet!

Hi all
Seems a bit quiet on the forum at the moment?
Not much doing on my car at the moment either!
So was looking for inspiration to get me motivated.
Filled a few holes on the rear where the bumpers mount.

Hi Ian
I was planning to have started working on mine by now, unfortunately an ominous rumbling from the rear of my 250GTO and a problem with the steering rack on my daily driver have all my attention at the moment.

I'm reduced to just buying bits I need for the Dino when I see them. I noticed in your picture your rear number plate light on the boot lid. I'm looking for one but can only find original items which cost the proverbial arm and a leg! Can you remember where you sourced yours from?

Keep up the good work.
Neil

Hi Neil

The number plate light you see on my boot lid is a copy from an original I managed to borrow. Although mine doesn't have lights in it, it's more a handle to lift the boot lid.
I took a mould from the original and from this made a pattern and had it cast in phosphore bronze at a local foundry.
Phosphore bronze is a fantastic material to chrome plate. I did have two castings made @ £15 each and I gave one to the guy I borrowed the original one from.
I didn't like the ferrari one as it was screwed on from the front.I've altered mine and it bolts on from inside the boot lid. I do have an original gasket for it and that will be used when the car get painted!

Hi Ian
You are the second person I've talked to who has made his own, maybe I should look into this casting thing

Cheers Neil
