Default Audi gearboxes for rear engined kits!

Ok, been looking at options for a rear/mid engined project and need a suitable gearbox. ignoring the un-1 and g50 route does anybody have any info about using the audi manual boxes? Someone I was talking to said about using an A8 quattro manual box, locking the torsen diff and fitting an A6 rear cover! Apparently Parallel designs use something like this on Diablo replicas using the V12 BMW engine. Someone else said to use the box from the A6 2.7 bi-turbo. Anyone got any info please? :-)

I know that DC Supercars have also fitted BMW V12's in their Diablos/Countach's and i'm sure they used Audi boxes?
I saw a BMW V12 in a red Countach replica when i went to visit them a few years ago and it looks awesome! Now there's a word i haven't used since i was a teen, but is appropriate here!

I'm sure there is some info about this over on the Lambo forums or someone over there will know?

Good luck!
