Quite a long article in the knowledge base section

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/kitcar/kb.php?aid=125

has a small section on aluminium welding, don't know if it will be of any use.

Never done it myself before but is one of those things I'd like to master one day.

If you are welding brackets or ali bodywork together then give Lumiweld a try. The kit is available from www.frost.co.uk (welding) and it's very good.
I have welded stuff together with success, even a bracket to an ally heat shield on a Caterham in race trim and it's still Ok after many many track miles.
Highly recomended kit and all you need is a blowlamp.
