Default Z3 side exhaust

Just seen this on ebay on the tribute listing for the kobra kits....

Does anyone know anything about it and if the side exhaust is real?

I looked at ways of putting a side exhaust on mine but failed! This looks good but is it real?

Isn't it one of Rob's (mobilerobbie) as that car in the front/side view has been about quite a while. (Just noticed its RHD so I am probably a long mile off that comment)

It also appears on the thread showing most known Kobras here :

But without the stripes and the side exhaust - intriguing development of it therefore.

Nice wheels (wonder what they are).

Side mirrors are interesting too - not quite bullets.

I assume the pipes are only that side as exhaust on the Z3 is usually down the one side.

Default not my car....

No its not one of my cars...
I must say I only like a sidepipe when it has nice dimensions and on a Trbute Kobra it will never look good enough (for me that is)

This car is one of our unfinished projects sold to Steve in Devon:

I have spoken to Steve about the side pipes, he fabricated them himself. The Z3 exhaust is stock upto the middle of the car, they then turn at 90 degrees and join into the middle of the side pipes in the middle. The blueing at the front was achieved with a blow torch.

Thanks for the clarification Chris. Great to see someone still progressing the concept - especially from an early version.
