Default 5exi parts required - ANYONE???

Hey all,

I am after a couple of donor parts and not having a great deal of time to spend routing round scrappies over the coming weeks, was hoping someone out there will have what i need at a reasonable cost?

I need:

Fuel filler neck (chopped or not, doesnt matter!!)
Wires from back of speedo head for 200 Turbo with Manual box
Wires for Wiper Motor (round plug ones)

Can anyone help me?!

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy.

I ended up converting to electronic speedo as the Marln supplied speedo cable would not fit the gearbox. And as the wire is already in the loom was ok. I have the speedo electronic connectors if you want them. But try and get the speedo cable to gearbox cable before soldering like I did.

To convert:

Speedo thing (not sure what it's called) for the gearbox. Easy to do just one bolt and swap from a 600/800.
Speedo head from a bubble 200 includng cables with 150 MPH. BRM. I have a speedo head from I think a 200 VI (150MPH). BUt you will need the little blue connector for the head to power the speedo.
You also need one of these : http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd126.htm

Gives another option anyway.

The conectors are your free mate. I have no need for them. You can if you need them, have the instruments. But one of them has a broken needle while I tried changing the dial faces. But yours again free if you want them.

No where near finished yet mate. Body work has not been ordered.

At the stage where I can try and bleed the brakes and finish off the electrics for the front under dash.

I had a thought with the speedo drive. I'm going to try and get one from a bubble 1800,2000 with a PG1 box and see if it fits our box. If this works, might not need the dakota box of tricks....

Pop down any time mate.

Hi Andy.

Just tested speedo without dakota box and works fine. Had 150 MPH reading. Not for the faint hearted in the garage with the wheels off the floor.

Anyway job is very easy.

Bits you need are :
Speedo drive from an 1800. (I got mine from a 1800 VVC). Fits into gearbox no problem with one bolt.
Speedo dials. I think any 1800 bubble has 150 MPH dials but check.

Also all connectors for dials and speedo drive. Breakers might not let you snip the connectors from the loom as they can sell the looms separate. And try and get as much of the cable as you can.

Actions:
Just wire the speedo instruments as normal. Run power/earth to speedo drive connector. And connect white/orange together. Job done.

Hope that helps.
