Navigator Turnkey build 001
We're pleased to say that we have just taken an order for a Navigator to be built as a Left Hand Drive, Double (removable) hump car driven by a 2Ltr Vitesse engine with Ford Type 9 Conversion (Thanks for the extra information Steve L). As this will be one of the first (Viatron (Mac) got there for the first one) built using the new frame and shell, we thought it a good idea to start a thread on here.
For now, the customer will be unnamed but we do have his permission to keep up with the build on the forum. We're very excited to take this opportunity and in the process, find ways to enhance the product.

We're aiming for a September delivery but would slip a little in favour of a better finished product

That's why it's on the books as Turnkey 001 (NAV/TK/001/**/Jul13). Yours is Nav001 and the in house cars don't get numbered.

I hope the customer will be suitably satisfied with a build that will come in on time and on budget, and I look forward to the thread updates.

Hi Andy, does this mean the new body tubs are now in production?
As I said earlier I have a Lotus Elite just waiting for a new fiberglass body and I think I can make yours fit

Hi Mike, Yes, the new Navigator is now in production. The first two out of the mould will be used to test and tweak the frame but if an order were placed now, all that would be done by the time the order was delivered. It's all looking good at present!

Navigator Super Sport!!!!
Hi Andy' as you know I want to rap one of your body's around a Lotus Elite and make a "SUPER SPORT", so the original frame work ect wouldn't fit anyway.
The G-46 is just giving me grief at the moment and I think it has to go, so a new money pit/headache/problem/ is needed.
Just let me know when I can collect one and as you also know I don't mind a bit of mould rash as some re-shaping will be in order, but at least I'll have a nice square silhouette to start with

No problems Mike. I'll add one to the fabrication line and let you know before it pops out

"I don't mind a bit of mould rash " Sacrilege! I think you'll be happy when you see the finish compared to the finish on your G46 body, at least I hope you will :-)

Hi Viatron, only those that have seen or built a G-46 know just how bad the moulds are
I have seen the photos of the work carried out on the new body's which is why I am going to spend many hours "trimming" it to fit, because quite simply I know it will fit and fit well.
In short the better the ingredients the better the end result

The last couple of weeks has seen some good progress on TK1. The chassis has had a good 'going over' with waxoyl, all bushes, trunnions and bearings checked and changed where necessary. The front and rear suspension has been lowered an inch and a set of Stainless braided brake hoses have been ordered.
A reconditioned LHD steering rack has been fitted with new track rod ends, gaiters and mounts:
Frame has been fitted with a Spitfire fuel tank:
A mounting bracket has been fabricated for the Compensator and after a brief from the customer, the rear exhaust hanger framework has been modified to accommodate a luggage storage.
The frame and floors have been coated with Raptor U-POL truck bed liner which we've found to be virtually indestructable (Mythbusters actually found it to be bomb proof!) and it's now time to start laying the wiring loom in preparation for the shell fitting.

Hi Andy great to see some pics of the car.
I hope i won't have to test the bomb proof ;-)
I'm the customer and i'm really pleased to be able to follow the build of my car. It's a long time i'm following the sammio/ribble cars and dream about mine for a while. For now my job and my children do not really allow me enough time to build it properly so i asked Andy if he could build one for me for my 30th (even slightly later it does not matter). I hope being able to build another one myself in the future and experience this great feeling of buiding is own car.
I think colour of the car will be really interesting, you will be updated soon with it.
With the number of car going to France i think we will be able to do a meeting soon
I spent a lot of time on this forum dreaming on all the cars already built, all the other builder did a really great job and i'm waiting mine as a children waiting christmas !

Hmmmm a bomb proof Nav, I think that I may have use for a few of those, just make the aero screen bullet proof and we are in business!
Progress looks very good, Im watching this build thread with great interest. Keep up the good work gentlemen.
