Boss and owner of new kit car manufacturer Peninsula Sports Cars got in touch with Madabout-Kitcars.com to keep us up to date with progress of his latest purchases, the Minari and Supersnake, a modern Cobra style car for the budget conscious.
Paul will tell you more.....
"I bought Minari from AMS in 2008 as they had enough on their plate with the Murtaya. I am re marketing the Minari in it's original form now and have a new version under development to upgrade the mechanical donor. This will be The Fiesta MK3/4 using the lovely Sigma engine."
"Other issues such as very high sills, window not winding down far, and lack of room for tall and wider drivers will be addressed. I am 6ft 4ins and a bit wider than average, so all shapes and sizes will fit in future. A motor bike engined 400kg version is planned for the RSR track car, road legal if desired. A fold away hard top is also planned negating the need for separate soft and hard tops on the RS model."
"I am also launching the SUPERSNAKE, a Cobra style car firmly aimed at the budget market. It is not intended to be a replica as the car is FWD and based on a Mondeo V6 ST220(though any Mondeo can be used)."
Peninsula Sports Cars Kit Car line up - the Supersnake and Minari.
"It is a re-body/upper spaceframe conversion to a shortened Mondeo floor pan leaving the running gear undisturbed. Everything required for the conversion will be provided in one kit for £5500 inclusive (price to be finalised by end of 2010 and subject to the new vat increase) making it possible to build a car for £6500!"
"The original prototype built by the designer Richard Stuart, is based on a 54 plate 3.0 st220, a 6 month old demo car at the time of conversion."
