BMW and Chevy V8 power for Turner LMP
Posted by Madabout News on Wednesday, March 16th, 2005 at 03:17 PM |
In addition to the Kawasaki & RST V8 cars Turner Automotive are currently engaged in making appropriate engineering modifications to offer a BMW V8 model available in Europe and a Chevrolet V8 in North America, each of which is said to produce around 400bhp.
The Chevrolet V8 will be shipped to Canada as a North American demonstrator. Chris Beddows of Turner Automotive is available to take test-drive enquiries for this vehicle. The car should be available to test in early June 2005.
Turner believe the torque and power of such engines will make the LMP V8 BMW and LMP V8 Chev a force to be reckoned with and round out the various options available to customers. With a power-to-weight ratio of approx. 600 bhp per tonne, and at a cost of £39,787 (ex. VAT) Turner believe the car will offer earth-shattering performance.
Steven Turner comments, “ From the outset, as we have always said, the LMP was designed to accept V8 power and we can now demonstrate that with these new cars. The proven BMW and Chevrolet engines will make the LMP one of the most versatile sports cars on track or road today.”
For further details or to arrange a test drive of the BMW V8 contact Steve Turner. This car should also be available to test in early June 2005.
