New GT in the Marlin pipeline and 5EXi adds VAG power
Posted by Madabout News on Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at 12:46 PM

Having decided to become a lifestyle business focusing on racing and low volume sports car production to order, Marlin’s decision to change business tack certainly proved to be fortuitous timing in lieu of the credit crunch and following recession – which sadly we now all know about only to well.

This change has indeed left Marlin in a very strong position to continue not only to produce complete cars and kits, but also has enabled them to develop a whole new sporting model which is expected to be released onto the market early next year.

Scooby Power for New V-Storm Variant
Posted by Madabout News on Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 03:24 PM

SDR Sportscars has just released news that development is well under way of a new variant of its existing V-Storm component car which will use turbocharged Subaru power!

For those not already familiar with the V-Storm, this car is the brainchild of Simon Dickens, proprietor of SDR Sportscars. The car is based around the increasingly familiar theme of the exo-skeleton type chassis, though it has a number of features which set it apart from the other offerings. The most obvious of which is the three seat cockpit layout which provides not only that single seater race car feel with a central driving position but also a surprising amount of room for the two passengers in a very compact overall package.

Murtaya road test - Supercar or not?
Posted by Madabout News on Sunday, September 7th, 2008 at 09:48 AM

Words and pictures by Chris Pickering

There’s nothing quite like the buzz of driving the right car, on the right road, at the right time. Unfortunately you never know when it’s going to occur and frequently the best driving machines are those too extreme, too impractical, for daily use. You find yourself about to drive home in your regular hack on a sunny Friday afternoon thinking “if only I was in the other car…”

A day with AMS and Arden Automotive

Hands up… Who’s been to Cornwall? I have and I can vouch that it’s a long way. Even starting from neighbouring Devon it takes some time to reach the west of the county. If, on the other hand, you happen to be coming from somewhere like London the inevitable procession of caravans between you and the Cornish Riviera can be akin to medieval torture.

High Performance, Low Insurance
Posted by Madabout News on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at 12:40 AM

YOUNGER drivers often seem to get a hard time from insurance companies.

But Marlin can get a 22-year-old on the road, in a two-litre Honda K20-powered 5EXi, for around £600. The premium for a 25-year-old, in the same car, can be as low as £200.

Not bad for a real sportscar with real sportscar performance. And it’s all through a respected specialist insurance broker.

Article and Pictures by Chris Pickering

The National Kit Car Motor Show at Stoneleigh is the largest exhibition of its type in the world. It's a Mecca for the UK kit car industry and last weekend thousands flocked to see it. Despite some characteristically British weather there was a good turnout, with plenty of owners taking to the campsite.
