How are you planning on attaching the hinge to the bonnet (with the L shape ali support)?
The two methods I've see are rivet - doesn't look that nice
Bolt - you need lots of bolts!
I was thinking of putting rivnuts in the hinge L shaped piece and cup washer / counter sunk bolts on the bonnet. Seeing as it will be easy to get in anyway I dont see any problem with having it like that.
With bolts it will be easier for the paint shop to take it to bits of painting which would be the other bonus.
The hinge itself I plan to attach to the scuttle and nose cone with rivnuts so the whole bonnet can come off easily
Haven't got anywhere near that stage yet myself but I was planning to use rivets. OK - so if you use bolts you can seperate the two halves for painting - but then you have to put all those bolts back in again without slipping once and damaging the newly applied paint!
The Marlin supplied fixture pack is pop-rivets but they clearly use Button headed screws and locknuts on their customer cars.
Rivet nuts is an interesting alternative but locknuts are probably cheaper.
I have a couple of pictures of a drilled hinge from when I was down at Marlin a couple of weeks ago.
Their latest website makes me laugh..........

Thanks. I think I'm going to bolt it - will look nicer - but it will be a case of be very, very careful once there's paint on there or someone's going to cry
