Sunday afternoon - short time for a quick ride in the sunshine. Took the cat out and all was well but during hard acceleration I snapped the throttle cable! fixed it and was on my way BUT what was worrying was as the cable snapped I got a small puff of smoke and the engine block (Pinto) covered in oil - quite a bit round the spark plugs. With no time to investigste so far I was wondering could I have done something serious or is it possible that the engine "burped" oil. As you can tell I am very far from being any sort of mechanic but was wondering if there is anything I should look at first.
