To Cat or not to Cat

Whats the general feeling over the cat, in as much as, on the 1600 K do they inhibit performance that much. I am thinking, should I bother with the Marlin link pipe or not, and if I do what are the bennifits to me.

Hi Steve.

Drive about in yours for a while. Borrow my link pipe to try.:)

I would have thought you would get a bit more go (and BHP) as less restriction.

Some NA engines work better with a cat, than with it removed, as they need the back pressure. Turbo engined cars behave quite differently. Best to suck it and see.

Performance asides, one issue is if you are randomly pulled in for a roadside emissions test, and you fail, you can be fined (and there was talk of points being awarded - how that can be justified I've no idea).
