donor birth sheet

I seem to remember a thread a while ago (which I can't find!) about an email address or contact info at BMW for getting a donor birth sheet.

I had BMW print off some info on the donor a while ago when I bought some parts but there's not much info on it.

Can anyone remember the details, or know where the thread is? :)

I recall somebody get proof of their engine year of manufacture from BMW from the engine number. This is important for the emmisions test if you don't have the V5 from the donor. (It might have been one of those 5exi guys?)
Apparantly, they'll normally take that as proof of engine age if the engine number is on the donor V5.
Do you still have your donor V5?

Ah I should be OK then as I have my V5 (I've got the donor on SORN) doesn't quite look like it used to now though :madgrin:

I obtained a birth sheet letter from BMW just email them and ask for details of car all they need is last 7 digits of chassis number.

Thanks Stuart that's the info I remember reading somewhere, maybe it was on the owners club forum :)
