Westfield Advice Required !!!!

1 Jun 2004, 12:38pm
Hi,

Seen a cracking Westfield SEiW 2.0L for sale and within my budget.

Trouble is, I'm not familiar with Westfields and the seller has indicated that the 1997 built car has 14,000 miles, the engine "bottom" has been reconditioned.

in factthis is the sellers answer to my question:

"The car was built and MOT'd in 1997. The engine was fully donor engine (2.0L
Ford Pinto from a Sierra) had the bottom end fully reconditioned - complete
strip down, replace all worn parts, reground bores, crank and big ends. A
new Vulcan Engines Stage 1 cylinder head (mild tune, unleaded petrol) was
fitted together with a new mild tune cam shaft."

I'm tempted to view it - Is there anything I need to look out for/be wary of ?

He wants £7,995 for it.

Thanks

Sounds reasonable....engine 'bottom' (short engine) reconditioned, new head, approx 2000 miles per year.

Best thing to do is go take a look (with a mechanic friend if you need a 2nd opinion)

Cheers, John
