Forget the cable clutch. Go hydraulic. Don't even consider cable.
While the dash and windsceen is off. Makes life a lot easier.
Bits you need for the rear:
Slave cylinder/arm. Need to take the gearbox off to fit. From a Rover 600 TI/diesel.
Bits for the front:
This part is a bit tricky. We made a plate to mount the master cylinder and cover pedal box hole(from a 600 TI again).
Mount pedal to meet master cylinder rod.
Got copper pipe flare with the ends from the slave and master cylinder pipe from Pirtek.
Hardest part is lining up the pedal with the master cylinder. And a tight space between the heater pipes and servo.
Trust me. It works a treat.
I you want to try Andy (in Northants) has cable, I have hydraulic. Just to compare.
I know the hydraulic is better and I will regret going with the cable and will probably change it in the future. But the build is just dragging on and I have spent too long (3yrs +) looking at the bits in my garage/bedroom/en suite etc and need to get the dam thing finished.
I am not too far away from starting the engine so hopefully this will give me an extra boost as has reading the recent threads on the cars passing their SVA.
OK, you have convinced me and I will go the hydraulic route. I knew it was the right decision deep down but will take more time.
It would be great to meet up (I think we met at Stoneleigh while looking at Rich's car) and have a look at your car . I think it would answer quite a few questions I have at the moment esp as we both have the rover turbo.
