Best tool for trimming the bonnet

30 Oct 2007, 1:12pm
The bodywork on my Sportster is moving on well now and I will (hopefully) be trimming the bonnet soon. Would anyone like to comment on what is the best tool for this process? I was thinking about getting a hand nibbler but most of them seem to be limited to 1.2mm thickness and I guess the bonnet tops are a little thicker than that.

Cheers

I've got this one:

Click me

Works just fine on the bonnet metal :) What I did was use an angle grinder with a very fine cutting disc for the front and back of the bonnet - but very carefully! I used the nibbler for the long straight bits.
