Rover heater advice needed

14 Jan 2008, 3:54pm
I am currently trying to fit two extra dash vents but can't take them all from the top heater duct due to space!

On the rover is the center duct cold air only? I know on some older cars it is but am unsure here?

Cheers

Main centre section is mixed, and the far left (as looking from the driver’s seat) can be cold, if the flap controlling the flow to it is set accordingly.

Not sure where you mean when you say far left duct? looking at mine I have top, middle above centre tunnel and floor ducts, oh and 1 little one on the left which is only about 3 inch long.

The reason i ask is that I am thinking about taking out the flap in the large center one for 2 more dash vents, so it would be permantly open I think

I am sure you must have your reasons for your proposal, but just s bit of feedback, I find the existing heater vents as provided by Marlin to be quite efficient, and in the main have found no issues with misting up.

Hi Steve, I have binned the marlin ones (did not like them) and now have the ones which are common on the italian supercars.

I was tired yesterday as all day on the car and off all week for the car aswell to try a get it finished????? or sva friendly anyway

I wanted two dash vents close to driver and passenger for frontal/face heating. There was no need to take out the seal in center vent as that is what it was for (doh) so have connected them up to this.

I just wish (although needed) I had not butchered my dash with an angle grinder as fiberglassing is not easy haha
