Hi everyone.

How have people connected the Rover filler to the tank?

I have connected the filler to tank using Rover 600 rubber and Jubilee clips. Then used Red Hyomar to seal.

Problem is, Hyomar has crack already after use.

The slop on the filler keeps wanting to work it's way free.

So just wonderd if anybody has came up with a different solution.

Large bore fuel hose, and jubilee clips - no leakage or movement detected to date.

I have fitted a Mocal fuel tank vent valve to stop any pressure buidling in the tank.

Are you talking about the one from CBS for the fuel hose? Or where did you get it from?

I think the auto-vent is pretty important too, as there's no way for the tank to vent otherwise (at least there isn't when using the Rover 200 k-series pump as a lift pump).

Did you connect the top of the tank to the bottom of the filler neck still? Or did you fit it to the top ot the neck? As this seems to be the best place to fit the hose to. Not the sloping section.

Hi John, I used a piece off the rover only about 2 inch long or so but cut my filler neck so that it was almost touching the tank neck!

This way the hose was a bitch to get on but should not move anywhere as it physically can't
I did not seal with anything other than jubilee's

I did much the same as Craig. It holds very well, as prior to fitting the tank vent, the pressure that built in the tank on a hot day was quite alarming!

Would be interested to see pictures of your install of the release valve. Did you run it from the breather pipe from the tank?

It's mounted in the upper surface of the tank, close to the opening for the pump (limitations of reach through the small opening).

I will take a picture this evening, subject to remembering!

I took the photo below on my phone, so it's pretty poor quality. Car is covered in quite a lot of road grime!

Are these the vent valves?

Did not want to take out the pump again if possible, as it's sealed good now!

But how did you block off the original vent outlet on the tank?

I presume the vent you're referring to, is the filler vent. That needs to stay, as it's there to aid the filling process.

Demon Tweeks link - yes, same valve. If you buy from them, MAKE SURE YOU CALL TO ORDER, as they cocked up both my order, and Craigs, by not sending the part specific nut.
