Craig. I have just found out that Ultima cover there dash in leather for there Can-Am.

Maybe worth a mention to Can-am owners. I have a friend (getting is GTR delivered this week in kit form). I'll mention it to him if you want and he can ask Ultima???

John, what is the dash made off? From what I was told it's a big problem on fiberglass esp gel coat! I said what about tvr etc etc and they said that the leather is inpregnated into the dash from the factory!

Decided now that it's getting flocked anyway! It's all packed up ready to go, i will still have to get the cluster done in leather though as this is possible

To be honest Craig, although the leather would look great, I think the glare would be frustrating - the screen is at such an angle, that even slight amounts of dirt on the glass affect visibility a reasonable amount, and a large flat reflective surface under the screen would be very distracting.

That's the reason I went for leather. No glare. The shiny sprayed surfaces I noticed this effect. Not sure on the matt sprayed one's. Did not notice it on Bigrich's sprayed one though.

The dash on my car is sprayed and i've had no probs with glare at all. I've also noticed that even after a short drive the dash can get quite covered with dust and dirt this may be a problem on some surfaces to clean.

No problem cleaning the flock - it's nylon, so worst case you can use a bucket of warm soapy water, though a vacuum cleaner has served me fine so far.

Well my dash is going to autoflock! They have sorted the courier for monday and so far they have been excellent.

What have people gone for with regards colour??? Thinking black but dark grey or dark blue might look good??

Hi Craig. Mine went to Electroflock near Birmingham. Reasonable price and very professional - they do a lot of flocking for Bentley and so on. They weren't quite 100% happy with mine (hardly noticeable minor defects only in the texture) so gave me a hefty discount which I was more than happy with.

Just make sure whoever you use is using a proper high-voltage electrical flocking process not just a glue-and-scatter. The latter approach is by most accounts rubbish.

I went for black, 0.75mm. I looked at a few other colours at the factory but the dark grey just ended up looking like cheap carpet tiles. I wondered about a really rich blue or something but I chickened out The galre would have been worse too.

Rich I'm glad you posted as the more I have thought about it the more I was thinking dark grey or blue to match my interior!

I went for dark grey carpets and the elises have dark grey dash's which look cool but will stick with black now I think! Unless I change my mind before monday, defo grey or black.

They use the proper equipment and only flock apparently which stops contamination.....I will have to wait and see! my dash has quite a few imperfections anyway small cracks etc. I should have it back by next saturday.

£80 all in including pickup and delivery back to me and an ali ecu cover so seems quite cheap

Can anyone say how the dashboard should be prepaired before being sent for flocking?

I guess it depends on where you send it really as I asked that question today and they just told me that they would address any shortfalls and not to worry about it.

I just made sure mine was smooth and rubbed it down with 800 grit paper. I filled all the imperfections. Apparently that was sufficient.

We used car builder solutions no probs and good price we thought.
