I have had a cold start problem with my car ever since I built it, over time I have replaced all the necessary sensors, and some probaly not so. I have replaced the distributer cap rotar arm plugs and leads, and now after all that I now have injector issues.
Number 1 and 4 are not clicking / firing so I am running on 2 and 3, so not very good, all thought gratefully accepted.
I have only checked for power with amulti meter, and yes they are paired. When you pull off the plug lead there is no change. I am thinling myself about the ecu driver.
I presume like most ecus, the ecu switches to earth to fire the injector. Is there 12v on one side of the injector plug with the ignition on?
Sounds to me like the easiest solution is to try another ecu. I guess ecus are 10 a penny, but a matching ecu and transponder is a bit harder to acquire.
Yep there grouped in pairs. 1&4 and 2&3. they all have a common +ve. Brown/pink wire. Should be getting 12V on all these with a good earth point.
Is the car driveable? Could have plugged in the diags to see if anything shows up. If I get mine on the road today, will make a little trip down. Depending on weather.
Scratches head trying to think of another 1.6 ECU that is about to borrow. Closest to me is DavidH I can think of. Still a couple of hours drive away though.
