I am in the same situation as you at the moment John.
Was thinking originally about painting, but fancied the idea of a carbon look.
Not sure the film would work that well with the contours of the dash. Anyone got any thoughts?
Also thought about flocking. I saw Car Builder Solutions at Donnington. They told me some one had flocked a 5exi dash through them. Anyone on here? They were quoting up to £200. Ouch!!
Has anyone done flocking themselves? Thought I might try that method. Frost (www.frost.co.uk) charge £16 for enough to do 1m sq. Even if I buy 3 it seems so much cheaper than getting some one to do it.
Sorry this doesn't help John, just more food for thought I guess.
I too have been looking at the dash covering and have had a quote to flock the dash and the 'tunnel' for £275. The quality of the finish is very good indeed.
I also have been looking at the Carbon approach, streamline carbon manufacture a sticky back version in two different finishes, cost to do the dash:- £170.00. Again people who have seen the samples say the quality is good.
I've sprayed mine in stonechip and painted in charcoal colour, cost about £5, required less preparation due to how well it covers. I thought if i don't like it i'd sand it back and think of something else, but i'm pleased with the result. It also leaves me with more money for shiny bits. Brian
I've have bought a leather look bright red material for the dash. It should go well with black. Cost of about £10- 20 to cover dash. When I get round to dash I'll post some piccies.
