Just realised my fuel tank does not have the holes for the filter/pump/sender model to bolt to already drilled, I had always assumed it did.
Is this just as simple as drop in the module mark the holes , drill and insert rivnuts?
As the photos on the build CD seem to show some raised bracket that is rivited to the tank, but (a) I dont have one of those and (b) cant see how that would seal at all.
I'm spending most of the weekend on the car now I have some parts again. So far have fitted one corner of the cars suspension only took 5 hours !!!
Mark, drill, fit rivnuts, clean tank, fit pump and sender (making sure you tweak the arm to suit the tank depth).
Some have used a sealant to ensure no leakage, but I haven't found this necessary. Even before I fitted a vent valve, brimming the tank just made the tank bulge rather nastily, but fuel never leaked from the pump opening.
By the way, fit a tank vent, or you'll have some undesirable pressure issues.
Didn't bother with rivnuts....threaded holes in tank, fit screws from inside the tank and then locking nuts on the top.....you then have studs to fir the fuel pump over.
mine leaked slightly.....redid the job using red hermetite sealant as this is fuel resistant.....bone dry.
