Anybody got any tips about how to pop out the rover front hubs from their suspension arms - It says that its a push fit in the manual but I cant get it to move
yes dont bother. you can push them out but nine out of ten you will damage them getting them out. you will likely find the rear inner part of the bearing will be almost imposible to shift. buy 2 new ones.
Tim I assume you mean the driving flange, It has to be driven out from the hub assembly, it will inevitably leave the inner race of the bearing on the flange. This will require grinding a groove along it's length in order to weaken it, then split it with a heavy sharp chisel.
They are quite expensive to buy new so i would definitely say it's worth the effort. This is the required procedure when replacing the wheel bearing, it would be a very expensive job to have to replace the flange every time. hth. Brian.
