Vintage Motor Company???

31 Oct 2004, 11:24pm
Hi all

Has anybody had any recent contact, especially by e-mail, with the Vintage Motor Company? I've e-mailed them twice re. the Royale Sabre with no response.

Not very good start.

Regards

Have you tried phoning them?

I find kit car companies are not too hot as far as e-mail and the internet are concerned and prefer more tradition methods of contact, ie the phone.

Give 'em a bell, I'm sure they'll be able to help.

Cheers, John

re: Vintage Motor Company???

Thanks - I will try them by phone.

Having said that, their web site is particularly well geared-up for e-mail contact and it happens to suit me too as I cannot easily phone during business hours.

I did wonder whether they took my enquiries seriously... this is what I asked them:

* Where can I study a build manual?
* Is the bug-eyed Scorpio also a good donor as well as the Granada?
* Do they know of anybody who has successfully used a BMW engine/gbox/diff/suspension/anything else as a donor?

Quite varied I know and it may seem to them that I do not really know what I want - which of course is perfectly true and the reason for asking. They may have thought that I could not possibly be serious about all this.

I considered that in the light of the type of question, I'd be more likely to get a considered response than if I caught them "on the hop" by phone.

I think your questions are perfectly legitamate so I would expect the company to respond.

Hi again

Have now had an e-mail response from Vintage Car Co. They sent me some nice pictures plus some word docs on kit contents etc but nothing I had not already obtained from their web site.

Didn't answer any of the questions I put to them at all.

Might just phone them but I think this is going nowhere. Pity - great looking car from where I'm standing. Perhaps I should check out the LMC Roadster that I saw at the Stoneleigh show.

Don't discount the Sabre, it really is a quality creation. Arrange a visit and go armed with loads of questions and a camera.
