I have owned a Sportster for a month and have enjoyed getting it back on the road after 6 years in a barn. It is a 1998 kit and features Ford front uprights. Although it is a fantastic drive, I worry about the amount of longitudinal float in the front wishbone bushes, there can be no castor angle left under even mild braking. I also need convincing that a cantilevered M10 bolt ( although high-tensile ) is a strong enough top wishbone mounting. I know that I could replace rubber with Poly bushes or nylon, but has anybody either adapted the existing top wishbones for M14 rose joints or made their own wishbones? Thanks for any advice or reassurance!
