As I am slowly but surely reaching the point at which I can drive the Sportster I have been thinking about the weather protection alternatives. Although I have bought a windscreen I have been thinking about fitting aero screens - at least to start off with. They only require small fixings and the holes in the scuttle could easily be filled if I were to change my mind later.
But
Do aero screens actually work? Do they actually reduce the force 9 gale that you get driving a car with no windscreen at all?
I was planning on Aero screens until I spoke to a chap at Stoneleigh.
Apparently the way the scuttle is shaped on the Sportster is such that if it does start to rain whilst you're out and about, the cold rain is funnelled directly into the cockpit and onto your chest. At speed.
Needless to say, the other half didn't think this was a good idea.
