hi guys i have a westfield at the moment it has a 205 block (with a whole in the side of it) the engine popped and now im looking to get a replacement engine (dont know whether to go for the pinto 2litre 205 again or whether i should go for a cosworth engine) if anyone has any ideas they are welcome my budget is 1500 (flexible to 2k) all in i know its not alot but i want to get this sorted asap as i dont want to miss out on taking advantage of the few days of summer we may see thanks guys if anyone feels like they may have the bits i need (a 205 block pistons crank and all the rest i need to get my car on the road that will be helpfull)
Not sure how the engine bolts up to the gearbox, would need investigating...
The K-series turbos were used in rover 75's / ZTT's and a few others, seen some on ebay recently and they come up every so often on mg-rover.org and rovertech.net the last one I saw was complete including loom and up for £400
im not 100 per cent sure on this but you might need an adaptor plate to mate a k sieries to a ford type 9 box if thats what you are using you would need to make new engine mountings etc, if you want it back on the road asap, i would get another pinto if you can, you have all the fitments already in place no having to make new parts etc im not sure what the availibility is on pintos, what a recon engine would be
limpabit talks sense, drop in a pinto, you should be able to get hold of one cheeply enough and then built up a cossie unit later, at least you know it fits, go for the 2litre rather than the 1600 valves hitting head when belt goes problem on 1600 s where the 2litre all you do is reset the timing i had a capri 2000 many years ago and had experience of a broken timing belt,
