Hi I'm looking to build my first kit car but want suggestions of what to build I like the lotus 7 style but thats not set in stone.

I want a nice cheap and easy to build kit for my first one

any suggestions

Hi Andy.

You best bet is go to Stoneleigh. Lots of different cars there. And try and speak to some owners/builders. See how easy it was to build.

Have a choice of 2 maybe 3. Then investigate, go for a test drive etc. Lotus 7's are usually easy to build and cheap. But very common.

Everybody has there choice on what they want. Don't go the easy route if it is not what you really want.

Just following up on this really. I had the pleasure of getting to Stoneleigh which pretty much sealed it for me - i'm having one, far too much fun that i can't allow myself to miss out on.

To cut to the chase i have settled on a lotus 7 style (though I did see SDR's Atom styled car, very cool!). I spent most of the day talking to the different manufacturers and two stood out, MNR and MK Sports Cars - the guys at both stands were very good, but to rule out the possibility they may just be epic salesmen does anyone have opinions on either?

Due to how different it is, what do people know of the SDR and their car too?

All help and advice would be much appreciated!!!!
