Did anyone consider using marine speakers in their car to avoid dampness and rain damage? Whats the consensus on soundproofing materials-have builders covered the transmission tunnel?I have ordered the same as Patrick-damplifier pro-Patrick, did you bond this to the floor?
Damplifier Pro is sticky (peel off backing) so you just need to make sure the floor is clean and degreased.
Laying it with a roller can make the process a bit easier. What I would do is keep the stuff in your airing cupboard overnight and it will soften a bit making the job on corners or other more complex shapes.
Damplifier is very similar to Dynamat Extreme so either is fine to use.
As for speakers, the ones exposed to the elements have a ali / magnesium cone and a rubber surround. The mid basses are paper but covered in water proof stuff, again a rubber surround so neither should be effect by damp. Car speakers are generally pretty rugged unless you buy the really cheap stuff
