Having thought long and hard about the areoscreen/windscreen options I have decided to fit the full windscreen. Does anyone have any instructions from Marlin as to it's position? I am sure Peter mentioned something in conjunction with fitting the wing mirrors - but I can't find it now. Doh...
Here you go........... (cut and pasted direct from an email from Terry)
FITTING WINDSCREEN
1. Transfer centre line of hinge back over top of scuttle to dash edge.
2. Mark centre on screen base plinth.
3. Place plinth on scuttle and align centre marks. Mark off outer edges of plinth on scuttle. From back edge of scuttle, mark at both sides 65mm forward and 130mm forward. To the outer of the plinth mark, add a further 7mm and draw a rectangle.
4. Using a 7mm drill bit, drill out the majority of the rectangle starting at one end. File the remaining glass fibre to form the opening.
5. Assemble screen pillars to plinth and fit rubber strip and screen. Fitting the screen itself to the frame will hold it square until fixed.
6. Carefully lower the pillars through the scuttle remembering to put the stainless steel polished escutcheons on the pillars as you do. Lean the screen assembly rearwards until the plinth is a good fit against the scuttle.
7. On the inside, bolt the lower part of the pillar to the chassis using the bottom holes and pack with spacers. Fit the two stay brackets above these with M8 bolts, and again position against scuttle mounting plates on chassis and drill and fix with M8 bolts.
I followed these and they worked OK for me. When I do mine for the final fitting after a paint job i'll spend a bit more time trimming the 'plinth' to match the contour of the scuttle as mine leaks a bit here when it's raining.
