I recieved these from Marlin yesterday (just my bumpers outstanding now), and plan on fitting them at the weekend.
Tips? I can see how they work, and roughly where they go - I assume that I want to space the sprung portion far enough away from the catch / button portion so that there is some tension on the spring, thus keeping the bonnet snug to the side panel.
Sorry couldn't find any pics of mine, but yes, make sure there's reasonable tension when you do them up.
The fixing holes for my bottom catch are about 57mm below the bonnet line, and the top ones about 16/17 mm above it, and about 4-5 cm in from each end.
You may find, depending on where your louvres are, that the front uprights get in the way of the fixing screws (I used self-tappers). I think someone cut a bit of it away. I drilled some holes in the uprights so that the screws cleared them.

You need to also take into account that when you fit the rubber edging to the bonnet (for the IVA) the bonnet sits about 3 or 4mm higher. My catched only just "stretched" after this was done.
You may also need to pack out the lower fixing. I just used a couple of stainless washers. If you don't do this the whole catch tends to splay out because of the little rubbber pips pressing on the bonnet sides. Try it - you will see what I mean.
Don't mount them too high like I did !
(you can see the original holes that will be welded up when the bonnet is painted)
They are sold as 'SVA friendly' but do have some sharp edges so I covered them like this. A piece of fuel hose split and held with two cable ties. Not sure how the IVA will view this. I assume Tim's passed OK?
