I've got a couple of dings on the tub - you can see them in the pics on my blog. I since got a few more from droping an ali side panel on the corner of it whilst sizing it up prior to fixing it. It's occured where there is a void at the squared off inside edge of the tub - the gel coat has formed the tight corner, but the underlying fiberglass has taken a shallower radius, leaving a void.
What's the best way of filling these? I've bought a tub of fibreglass based filler from Halfords, but I want to check with you chaps before attempting any repairs on the off chance I do more harm than good.
Unless you have a hole that goes all the way through the filler you have is as good as anything. If you have a particulalry deep hole best to do it in a couple of goes.
If you want a posh job you can leave it slightly low and then paint some gelcoat over it - but probably not worth the effort as the whole thing will be painted anyway.
My nosecone was pretty bad particularly on the sharp edges. I filled some of it already but still a lot of work to do before it is painted.
